Happy 10 Months, Faith!!
Ten months ago today, Faith joined us in this world! Faith is growing well and reached the 16 pound mark this past month. We are so thankful for her growth and improved health. Faith is showing progress. Her trunk extension has improved and she is tolerating time on her tummy much better.
Along with her physical therapy sessions, we are working with Faith as much as possible to help her progress. Patience, patience, patience!!!
Faith is still struggling greatly with sleep. We have exhausted many different options and are currently trying some new recommendations. This is one of the most frustrating things we are dealing with right now and of course being sleep deprived ourselves doesn’t help.
Another concern with Faith right now is eating. Faith has regressed a bit with eating her baby food. We are not sure why but she is just not a happy baby during the majority of her feedings. Feeding has never been great, easy, or extremely positive but we have taken a step back. Faith’s acid reflux continues to be a concern as well and may be contributing to issues with eating . Many babies get some relief by this time because they are sitting up and spending more time upright. Due to Faith’s developmental delays it most likely will take a bit longer for Faith. Since she is primarily getting all of her nutrition through the G-button we are eager to see some progress with her eating so she can start getting more of her nutrition by eating on her own.
The exciting news is that Faith’s first tooth is cutting through. Just in time for her 10 month birthday!! We have definitely noticed the extra drool and we even caught her putting her finger in her month. It doesn’t seem like teething is making her too miserable yet, but it is hard to tell for sure with everything else that Faith struggles with.
Here are a few pics of Faith playing with some new loaner toys that she really enjoys:
Here is Faith celebrating Fourth of July napping:
Isn’t she just beautiful!? Life continues to be challenging, but I don’t think we could love Faith anymore than we do. Her smiles and giggles are the best thing ever! Faith continues to help us grow stronger everyday and realize that we can handle more than we ever thought possible. She definitely keeps us on our toes!!
Please keep Faith in your prayers and specifically we ask for your prayers for improved sleeping and eating. Also, Faith is going under anesthesia on Tuesday for a minor procedure that we ask for your thoughts and prayers. Thanks!
Keeping the faith,
Bridget

She is so precious and beautiful!! Praying for her eating and sleeping needs. I am actually dealing with the same issues with my 5 year old (g-tube fed) and still not sleeping through the night. I pray that your superbaby Faith will start eating and sleeping through the night very soon!

Having been followed Faith’s news for almost 9 months, I am happy to see Faith’s progress. Every day is a new day. Every day is a new adventure for Faith to explore this whole new world. I wish Faith keep growing strong physically and mentally. Your love is like summer breezes and winter sun to Faith. The smiles from her face surely warm your heart in those worrisome nights.
