Appointments, appointments!

Faith certainly has had her fair share of appointments and will continue to have more. This week so far we had a visit from Early Childhood Intervention(ECI). Faith will need several different services. For now, she will be working with an early interventionist, physical therapist, and vision teacher. She also may need a occupational therapist and audiology services. Faith seems to be doing pretty well so far. Due to her blindness and mild hearing loss she is at risk for delays so we are staying on top of things.
Today, we met with an ocularist to get a better idea of the process of starting conformers which would eventually lead to Faith getting prosthetic eyes. This process ensures that the facial bones are stimulated for normal growth to occur. We are not sure if we will go the conformer route at this time. We are also researching a new approach which involves hydrogel implants. This approach would require Faith to be seen by an oculo plastic surgeon. We are researching and consulting to determine what will be the best approach for Faith.
Faith is such a trooper. She has been so cooperative with all of the appointments. I guess she is just getting used to it at this point. More appointments next week!
As always, keeping the faith!
