Adios, Caffeine and Oxygen!

As of right now, Faith is off caffeine and oxygen! The caffeine level came back low again on Friday. Apparently, Faith has a very fast metabolism and her body was just eating up the caffeine. Therefore, the caffeine was never able to reach a therapeutic level. The doctor decided on Friday that she doesn’t need the caffeine. Last night, Faith was taken off the oxygen. As of now, it has been 24 hours since she has been off of it. She has still been desating (meaning her oxygen saturation level drops) but the desats are occuring much less than any of the prior attempts of taking her off the oxygen. The nurses and doctors don’t seem to be concerned with the desats that are occuring. Hopefully, this is the breakthrough that we have been waiting for. If Faith can continue to do well off the oxygen, we may get to take her home. She is going to have to prove herself! We know she can do it!

SuperBabyFaith is so awesome! She is beautiful and such a blessing. We thank God everyday for her life and the opportunity to be her parents! As anxious as we are to get her home, we want to make sure that she is really ready to be out in the real world. We continue to pray that she will get stronger and healthier everyday.

Please keep the prayers coming! Some special prayer needs we have in our hearts and would like to ask you to pray for are:

  • For Faith to be able to do well without the oxygen and stay off it forever
  • For Faith to be able to hear
  • For Faith’s doctors that God will give them wisdom and knowledge and help them to use it to treat Faith
  • For Faith’s parents (Mike and I) and all of our family and friends that love Faith so much as we continue on this emotional rollercoaster and face many challenges and ups and downs.
