11 Months

I remember last year at this time I was so anxiously awaiting Faith’s arrival. Faith will be 11 months old on Tuesday. Her 1st birthday is just ahead! My baby girl is getting so big! She weighed in this week at 18 lbs. 4 ounces. We are on step 3 of a 4 step process of transitioning her to Pediasure. Faith will not be able to go onto regular milk at 1 year for several reasons. First of all, she will need the extra calories that Pediasure provides. Secondly, Pediasure is a safer option in terms of preventing contamination when using her feeding bags. Faith is doing ok with the transition so far. However, the volume of what she is spitting up is greater than before so we are monitoring things closely. Hopefully, she will adjust otherwise we may have to look into other options.

This past week was a busy week for Faith. She got a new set of conformers. This is her 4th set. She had her 3rd set for quite awhile so we were glad she was ready to get larger conformers. Progress was made! Faith also got new ear molds for her hearing aids this week. She now has pink ear molds that are staying in her ears very well! It is nice to not have to deal with them falling out all the time. Faith’s ears were growing as fast as the rest of her body!

We are continuing to work on many things with Faith. A big goal we have for Faith right now is to get her sitting. I feel that if we could get her sitting  it may help with her reflux. I am hopeful that if her reflux improves, she will eat better and we can start getting her to get adequate nutrition on her own without everything going through the tube.

We have seen some improvements in Faith’s sleep but nothing consistent. Each night is just so different! Faith does have one tooth that has broken through the skin.  There also appears to be another one that will probably make an appearance very soon. The past few days it seems that teething may be causing her to wake at night as well.

As I tell Faith often, she is pretty much the best thing ever!! I just can’t get enough of her beautiful smile and laugh! I am truly blessed to have such an incredible daughter!

As always, keeping the faith!
